Current stage: ideation and validation

Smart air quality monitoring for industry. Prevent, don't react.

ESMADA Air proposes continuous particulate matter monitoring, anticipating dust episodes with AI and triggering control measures, such as road watering, before a limit is exceeded.

An early-stage project designed for mining, quarries and industries with dust emissions.

The problem

Dust management is still reactive

Most operations measure in one-off campaigns and find out about the problem when there is already a complaint or an exceedance.

Sporadic measurements

Semi-annual or quarterly campaigns that don't show what is happening in the operation today.

Regulatory risk

Without timely data, exceedances are detected late and can end in fines or shutdowns.

Community relations

Dust episodes reach neighbors first, and the company responds once the complaint has already been made.

The solution

From data to action, without waiting for the report

The proposal: a network of low-cost stations connected to a platform that interprets the data and decides when to act.

From campaign monitoring to continuous monitoring

Conventional monitoringExpensive reference equipment moved around for one-off campaigns. Results arrive with the report, once the episode is over.

The ESMADA Air proposalLow-cost, solar-powered stations measuring every few minutes, 24 hours a day, with AI that interprets the data and triggers control measures.

Continuous monitoring

PM2.5, PM10 and meteorology every few minutes, 24 hours a day.

AI analysis

Cross-references concentrations with wind and activity to estimate causes and forecast peaks.

Early warnings

WhatsApp or email alerts when the trend approaches the regulatory limit.

Automatic control

Triggers watering or other measures in the affected sector, logging every action.

1

Measure

Sensors on the perimeter, roads and work fronts.

2

Interpret

AI combines air quality, wind and operational data.

3

Anticipate

Alert before the exceedance, not after.

4

Act and log

Automatic control measure and evidence for the authority.

Platform

A dashboard to run day-to-day operations and report compliance

This is how we envision the dashboard. It is a mockup with illustrative data, designed to show how it would work.

Who it's for

Dusty operations, nearby communities and reporting requirements

Mining and quarries

Mid-sized operations that need to control dust on roads, work fronts and plants, and demonstrate compliance.

Environmental consultancies

Teams that want to add continuous monitoring and automated reports to the services they already offer.

Public agencies

Low-cost networks that complement official stations and extend coverage.

Where we are

An early-stage project, validating the idea

ESMADA Air is in the ideation stage. Through Santander X Explorer 2026 we are validating the problem and the value proposition with lean startup methods before building the first prototype.

  1. 1Current stage

    Ideation and validation

Problem definition, value proposition and validation of the idea with lean methods.

  2. 2

Lautaro Bentivenga

Environmental engineer and developer · Founder of ESMADA Air

I have worked in air quality since 2021. I have carried out dispersion modeling, dust management plans and emission reduction plans for coal, PGM, chrome and nickel mines in South Africa, as well as impact studies and monitoring for quarries and industry in Argentina.

In those projects I always saw the same problem: data arrives late and the report describes what has already happened. ESMADA Air aims to make information useful for acting in the moment. I will build the software myself, drawing on previous experience with AI agents, databases and integrations.

Pilot program

We are looking for operations interested in the first pilot

If you manage an operation with dust emissions or advise someone who does, leave your details: it helps us validate the idea, and we will contact you when we set up the pilot.
